"If you take a Baroque commode and put a Baroque clock on top of it, maybe it is not so interesting as when you put a computer on top of it. Then you see both items in a new way."

RANDOM ACTS OF OPERA
A Public Art Experiment With An Ulterior Motive*

UNEXPECTED MOMENTS OF ARTISTIC DELIGHT

Imagine walking through the city, waiting for your coffee, or minding your own business in the shopping centre when suddenly, a powerful, unamplified voice fills the air with emotion and beauty. You recognise the words (they're in English), and you are transported for a few minutes - perhaps curious to know more...

Who are these people? Why are they singing? Why is it that you have goosebumps, feel an urge to smile, weep, breathe or suddenly feel deeply?

That is the essence of ACOCO's RANDOM ACTS OF OPERA, -
a thrilling free public art program that brings our singers to direct your lives - no theatre or tickets required!

NO LANGUAGE BARRIER

All performances are in English, so you won't miss a word of the drama unfolding before you.

Soldier Songs

Soldier Songs - dramatic songs depicting the soldier’s experience:  one isolated baritone stands alone and speaks, through song, for generations past, and present.
